The Auckland Fair

1/8/2016

The kids and I ventured into the city to check out the Auckland Fair. Happening just twice a year, the Fair is the largest, exclusively handmade and curated market in New Zealand. With a mission to empower independent creative businesses from all over the country and bring their amazing and unique products direct to the public at Shed 10, Queens Wharf.

With over 100 unique handmade designer-maker businesses to choose from, you can shop from a selection of jewellery, art, prints, ceramics, clothing, kids toys, soaps, candles, cosmetics, homewares and more - all handmade and beautifully presented by the person behind the table.

I went along to see what new jewellery and clothing designers there might be and I found a few delectable designers;

The next Auckland Fair is Sunday 4th December. For more information on the fair check out their website; Auckland Fair.

Gwyneth Hulse Design
I have been a fan of this range of jewellery for a while as I stumbled across it at Auckland Art Gallery in their Gift Shop. I love the colour and the fact it is all made from native timber.

Gwyneth Hulse Faceted Bangle $37.00, Rewarewa Rope Necklace $50.00 and Faceted Rings $25.00.

I love that all of these products are beautiful but also functional. The whole range is designed to double as teething jewellery for kids! It is all wood, not toxic silicone and cotton ribbon.
A La Mum The Dulcie $68.50, The Mayli $18.50, The Olivia $38.50.

These designs are all handmade in Wellington by Sadie who hunts down, colourful, on trend statement jewellery that will last longer than one season. She uses vintage beads, chains and embellishments, so Shh by Sadie pieces are often one of a kind or limited edition. Her prices are in UK£, (the current exchange rate is £1.00=$1.83 NZ).
Miami Nights Necklace £69.00, Bali Necklace £29.00, and Hidden Paradise Necklace £54.00.

    I love jewellery, but don't spend a fortune on anything, as I think there are lots of average priced, gorgeous pieces out there that can jazz up an outfit. Check out my weekly choices here...
