Zara to hit our shores next year!

Zara confirmed this week that it will be opening a store in Auckland's Sylvia Park in time for Christmas shopping next year. I was SO excited to hear this, I LOVE ZARA!!! The fashion house is a pioneer of 'fast fashion' in the industry. With 'fast fashion' becoming mainstream in recent years, and celebrities like Kate Middleton flaunting the brand's ensembles, Zara has found a large audience worldwide.

Zara began its journey as a fashion label in Spain in 1975 through Amancio Ortega's vision, and was co-founded by Rosalia Mera. In 1988 Zara stepped into the global market, buoyed by the positive response it received in Portugal. Zara launched in the Big Apple, knowing that its reception in the city would indicate how international audiences would sway. By the 1990s, Zara had seen rapid expansion, launching stores in fashion capitals and other cities all over the world.

With over 2000 stores in 73 cities, Zara has shown how the global culture can be tied together through fashion. The Zara clothing line is known to design new products and have them out in stores in a span of just two weeks, as opposed to the six-month long period that other retailers take. Manufacturing a bulk of its apparels in Morocco and Spain, allows the merchandise to arrive at the stores when they are trending.

If you cant wait that long, and your heading to Australia, they do have stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and The Gold Coast.

The Milford Centre Christmas Book

The Milford Centre, on the North Shore of Auckland, is one of my favourite places to shop. It has grown over the last few years into a shopping destination with an array of my favourite shops; Witchery, Storm, Decjuba, Moochi, Trenery and Flo & Frankie, to name a few.

Every Autumn/Winter or Spring/Summer they produce a glossy magazine of the seasons looks, creating a mood board of the current trends/styles from all their stores. I find this little gem is great to browse through to get an idea of trends and to give you some inspiration.
