I love award season time, and of course the finale of it all is the OSCARS. The Oscars is the night when all the stylists have been hard at work for months, securing the best outfits for their celebrity clientele, and the looks this year were intricate, classic, and stunning, and didn't disappoint.
I have picked my favourites from the numerous celebrities who strutted their stuff on the red carpet. Take a look at the slide show below and I have also critiqued each outfit, for what I loved about the look.
Emma Stone's Givenchy Haute Couture gown apparently took 1,700 hours to create! Which actually isn't that unusual for haute couture. But she originally wanted it in silver, but I think the gold was the right choice as it enhances her beautiful colouring.

Brie Larson in Oscar de la Renta, I love the eighties inspired bustier of this dress. Brie always looks elegant but with an edge.

Halle Berry in Atelier Versace Couture, even though I wasn't quite sure about the hair, I thought the cut and texture of this dress looked fantastic on Halle.

Busy Philipps in Elizabeth Kennedy, this dress perfectly suited Busy's figure and is a classic shape, and I loved the depth of colour in the green tinged velvet.

Janelle Monáe in an Elie Saab, I love, love, love this dress! This would have to be my favourite. While its not something I would wear, I love the detail in this, constructed from layers of tulle, diamonds, beading, sequins and crystals she stood out on the red carpet.

Leslie Mann in Zac Posen, it was lovely to see some colour on the red carpet and to see this beautiful princess gown creation on Leslie Mann.

Matt Damon's wife Luciana Barroso, looked stunning in her gown. She may not be a celebrity in her own right but she looked every inch the celebrity that night.

Nicole Kidman in Armani Privé dress, even though Nicole tends to go for these column shape gowns, they do suit her bodyshape and the red lip made sure she didn't fade into the background.

Viola Davis in custom Armani, I loved the off-the-shoulder look and the train, and of course the show stopping red looked amazing on her.
