On my recent trip to the high street this week I noticed a lot of leather, and a lot of leather skirts. The A line leather skirt, popular in the 70's, has made a resurgence, and nearly all the shops I went into seem to be selling them.
Obviously a real leather skirt has a quite a hefty price tag, but there are also quite a few good imitation leather ones around. Unfortunately the ones that seemed to catch my eye were the real leather, in particular the cut and style of the Seed asymmetrical black leather skirt was really gorgeous when I tried it on. But I always aim to show you styles at different ends of the price spectrum so these are my pick this week.
In terms of styling these skirts, I don't know about you, but I always find it hard knowing what to wear with a skirt. For me, I tend to stick to more of a fitted top that I can tuck in, or a short, cropped top so that there is some body definition. But as always these are my suggestions, but you need to also wear what you feel comfortable in..
This first look is definitely for a night out on the town, not the school run!! This is my favourite leather skirt from Seed Heritage, whose new store in Ponsonby, Auckland, I checked out this week. For more on my visit see Fashion News.
Witchery deep v sheer top $149.90, Storm LKD leather & feather collar necklace $89.00, Witchery Esther Clutch $89.90, Mia Piaci Maddy Ankle Boot $350.00, Seed Heritage Asymmetrical leather skirt AU$399.95.
