T Galleria, in Auckland, are now stockists of the iconic New York brand Kate Spade. The Kate Spade brand was launched in 1993, when Kate Brosnahan Spade, a former accessories editor at Mademoiselle magazine, set out to design the perfect handbag. She released a collection of six silhouettes, combining sleek, utilitarian shapes and colorful palettes in an entirely new way. Since then the Kate Spade brand has been associated with crisp colour, graphic prints and playful sophistication.
Over the years she has expanded to include everything from clothing to jewellery, shoes, stationery, eye-wear, baby, fragrance, home-wares and gifts. She now has 45 retail shops across the US and 94 shops internationally.
I came across Kate Spade when I was back in the UK, on a trip to Bicester Village, (a HUGE outlet shopping mall selling luxury discounted catwalk brands). I particularly loved her playful jewellery, sunglasses, stationary range and graphic print handbags. It seems that the Auckland store is currently stocking just handbags, wallets and a small jewellery range.
(Shopbop stock a more extensive range and products are shown in NZ dollar and they ship here for free if you spend over $100.00.)
