Ankle Boots

The Ankle Boot is a very versatile boot for Winter as you can wear them with skinny jeans tucked in, under jeans/trousers and even with dresses and skirts. There are various styles out there but I've trawled the shops for you and picked a few of my favourites.

From top left to right; Overland Simpson suede ankle boot $259.00, Witchery Aria ankle boot $259.90 (currently has 20% off boots until Sunday 31 May), Seed Heritage Kendall block heel boot AU$229.95, Mi Piaci Taupe suede ankle boot $240.00.

Lace-up Brogues

I have seen a few variations of the brogue, as shown below. I still love the silver ones, (as you can probably tell by the few times I have featured them in my Hot in the Shops edits!)

They are a very masculine shoe so need to be dressed mainly with trousers. For the more traditional brogues, these would look good with a corporate style trouser, for the dressy brogues you can get away with jeans, or wide leg trousers would also look good.

Ballet flats

Ballet flats are a bit of a staple for me. They are a good inter-season shoe, transitioning from Summer to Autumn, and then from the end of Winter to Spring. In between these seasons, I personally find my feet get too cold, unless I wore them with tights, as I find the shoe sockette too unsightly!

I love the simple, elegant black version below, but thought the silver ballet would be great for something a bit dressy, and the slightly fluffy cream and chocolate ballet shoe would be great with khaki trousers and denim.

Killer heels!

Even though I can barely walk in high heels, and nowadays don't have that many occasions to wear heels for, boo hoo! Doesn't mean that I don't occasionally wear heels and still covet heels. There is no getting away from the fact that they do wonders to elongate your legs and make you feel like you are really getting dressed up. (For those of us that don't have an office job and may wear heels more frequently.)

A classic black heel is a wardrobe staple, and there are a lots of different quite funky styles out there at the moment. The ankle strap, especially the chunky straps, can shorten your leg so if you need to slim and elongate your leg choose something like the Iconic-Wittner shoe or a thin strap.

From top left to right;
Mi Piaci-Buffy $240.00, Overland-Ravelle $209.90, The Iconic-Wittner Daphane Pumps AU$199.95, Shoe Connection-Diavolina Connie $179.99.

Its that time of year for sneakers.

When the temperature drops, as it did this week, I start to think of ways to keep myself warm in what I wear. If I am not in boots for Winter then I tend to opt for high-tops, (more on those soon), or sneakers, so that I can wear socks to keep my feet warm, I'm a bit of a Nanna!

Of course there are an array of colours and styles out there at the moment, but I decided to stick to darker colours on my feet. Mainly because I will be standing on the sidelines at various soccer/football sessions for the kids, so they wont show the dirt as much!!

From left to right; ASOS Chuck Painted Hardware Plimsoll Trainers $124.28, Overland Deuce Ritter Zephair $99.90, Shoe Connection Vagabond $129.99, Witchery Liam sneaker $149.90.

    SHOES
I have to confess I am not a fan of heels. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE heels and think they do wonders for elongating your legs, it is more that I cannot wear them anymore due to the extra instability they induce in me. Also being a stay at home mum, I do not really have the occasion to wear them.

I do own a gorgeous pair of black suede, (with gold studs on the back), block heel Zara ankle boots, which I love, and when I am feeling brave or dressing-up I will resort to.

So.. I am always on the look out for gorgeous, dressy flats or low heeled shoes, so I may feature more of these than heels. But don't despair if your a heel devotee I promise to scour the shops to bring you the best on these too!!
